Photographic prints - injured feet

This item consists of six black and white photographic prints (measuring 7.0x8.0 cm) depicting the injured feet of an Australian Aboriginal man in various positions and taken from various angles. Annotations on the acetate negatives for these prints (AA 91/1/13) indicate the subject is 'Billy Joe' of Wyndham, northern Western Australia, estimated to be 20 years of age. Annotations further indicate that the injuries were thought to have been sustained during enforced travel while under arrest for cattle-spearing. The negatives for these prints are dated 15 May 1935. It is unclear where the photographs were taken or who took them. There are also nitrate negatives (AA 91/1/21) of these images in this collection.
