One acetate negative depicting an Australian Aboriginal man and woman holding two children. Annotations on the negative read 'Copy negative 2.1951', 'Mutilations Ear distention among Wikmungkan AP 762', and 'Archer River, U.H. McConnel, Wikmungkan'. The negative was produced from a photographic print in February, 1951, after the original negative was found to be lost. The photograph was taken by Ursula McConnel, who conducted fieldwork in western Cape York Peninsula, Queensland, in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Copies of the photograph can be found in the South Australian Museum Ursula McConnel collection (AA 191).
