Cranial illustrations

This item consists of seven illustrations of various sizes depicting human crania from various angles. Most of the illustrations are signed by JH Gray (AA 111) who was the physical anthropologist on a number of Board for Anthropological Research (BAR) expeditions. Annotations indicate that four of the drawings depict the South Australian Museum specimen number A11446, a cranium found on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia which was donated to the museum by Dr EA Johnson in 1904. The remaining three illustrations carry the same annotations although they have been crossed out, leaving them annotated as belonging to 'Ser. 16'.
