NOTES RE SKIPPER PAINTING: 'Corroboree' 1840
Arab Horses as shown in the painting are mentioned in the Mary Thomas Diary. There is every reason to suppose that the picture was painted somewhere in the vicinity of Adelaide. Mr Stanley Skipper (January, 1947), stated that his grandfather (Mr JM Skipper) married in 1839, and that he considered it probable the figure in the riding habit is Mrs JM Skipper (nee Frances Amelia Thomas)
