Original diary was a black hard cover ruled notebook, written in ink 165mm x 100mm. Front and back cover loose.

Typed transcription of personal diary entries from when Waite was at the South Australian Museum. Including copies of a portrait photograph of Waite and various newspaper clippings. Waite starts his expedition to the pacific Islands.
