The Victoria Cross (Australia) is awarded for most conspicuous bravery, or some daring or pre-eminent act of valour or self-sacrifice, or extreme devotion to duty in the presence of the enemy.

The Vietnam Medal (Australia) is awarded for one days service on the posted strength of an unit on operational service in Vietnam during the period 29 May 1964 to 27 January 1973.

The Silver Star (United States of America) is awarded for gallantry action against an enemy of the United States.

The Cross of Gallantry (South Vietnam) is awarded for valour and heroic conduct against the enemy.

The Vietnam Campaign Medal is awarded by the Government of the Republic of Vietnam to allied Service personnel who served in Vietnam for a minimum period of 180 days.

South Vietnam was previously called the Republic of Vietnam.
