Following the traditional field book practice drawings and notes are made on the right hand side; additional information is posted on the left hand side. Depending on the size of the specimen drawings range from 1 to 12 entries. Each free hand drawing is accompanied by date, notes on size, colour and description.

The las several pages ae devoted to notes relating to "Duplicates sent to BM. In No.1 aim of Carlobized saw-dust. Data is given in 3 columns: No in this book; Name if any; Date. Entries range from 1 January 1909 to 7 August 1909.
