Manuscript copy of the original "Woolner" vocabulary recorded by John William Ogilvie Bennett was found among the effects of Mr H.C. Talbot.

Original manuscript with annotations, of J.W.O. Bennett's 'Vocabulary of the Woolner District Dialect, Adelaide River, N.T.', as published in Woods, J.D. (ed.). 'Native Tribes of South Australia' (Adelaide, 1879). Pencil note at top of first page, in N.B. Tindale's hand, reads 'from effects of Mr H.C. Talbot, pres. By Mr R.O. Segerlind'. Manuscript originally received by the Museum from Segerlind, April, 1940. The manuscript was found among unsorted Tindale papers and identified as Bennett's by P. Jones, 1998. Manuscript is accompanied by a copy of Herbert Hale's (Museum Director) letter to Segerlind, 18 April, 1940, acknowledging donation.
