What's That? Wednesdays

We can't wait to see you online! This session is FREE, however please register your attendance below.

What’s that? Wednesdays are moving online! Each session will address some of the common questions we get at the Museum and give you the skills to make your own identifications. The first of which will focus on Beachcombing - what the sea threw up!

Have you ever found something strange on the beach and wondered what it is? If you have a photo of a beautiful, interesting or unusual object send it in and we will identify it for you. Dr Rachael King and James Smith from the South Australian Museum are here to help.

We will look at some of the common and interesting objects found on South Australian beaches and share a taxonomist’s tips and tricks about how to identify what gets washed up on your favourite beach.

Towards the end of the session, if we have time we may open up the audience.

Each session will provide insights to aid in the identification of the topic under discussion and will run for approximately 45 minutes.

So, if you have a question about your exciting beach find, send it through to discovery@samsueum.sa.gov.au.
We'd love to hear from you!

Don't forget to register if you plan to attend.
