Like many cultures around the world, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have been grinding seeds and making bread for tens of thousands of years. Let’s have a look at a contemporary method of making bread with Indigenous ingredients.

Year 3 Physical Science - Investigating the production and transfer of heat in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ methods of cooking, such as the use of ground ovens (OI.5)

Year 6 Chemical Science - Investigating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ knowledge of reversible processes, such as the application of adhesives, and of irreversible processes, such as the use of fuels for torches or raw ingredients such as flour and water with applied heat creates bread. (OI.5)
