This series includes photographs, slides, glass negatives, lantern slides and nitrate negatives from Board for Anthropological Research (BAR) expeditions and Aborigines Protection Board field-trips, Cleland family photographs and other photographs collected by Cleland.

In addition to these albums there is a folder containing empty film envelopes, scraps of paper with captions, a list of twenty-two photographs taken at Ernabella in 1945 and a list of fourteen photographs taken at the Granites. This folder is filed in AA 60/6. Formerly Acc. No. 1663.
