The photographs were rehoused into four archive albums:

Photographs taken during various Board for Anthropological Research (BAR) expeditions and other trips by Cleland to Central Australia, including the following:

  1. Negatives from a Kodak envelope marked 'Rejects, Cockatoo Creek'. 1931. Four negatives, 7x5 cm.

  2. A newborn child and one other Aboriginal child at Mt Liebig.1932. Eight black and white (b/w) prints. Formerly Acc. No. 1664.

  12. Unidentified. Two colour slides in metal slide mounts.

  13. This item is restricted. Photographs taken by Mountford (see AA 228) showing details of circumcision and subincision rituals at Warburton Range. Ten b/w prints, 20x20 cm.



This item is restricted. In addition to the album there is an envelope containing numerous nitrate negatives taken at Cockatoo Creek (1931), Mt Liebig (1932), Ernabella (1933) and other Central Australian locations. The negatives are housed in used envelopes. Some of the negatives are labelled, either on the negatives themselves or on their envelopes.

This series contains references to the following regions of South Australia: Flinders Ranges; North East; North West; Nullarbor - Great Victoria Desert.

This series also contains references to: New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia.
