This series of Ernest Eugene Kramer's expedition and travel diaries comprises one exercise book, four notebooks and a looseleaf manuscript (stored in an Albox album). Stored with the manuscript is a typed transcription.

The exercise book includes a diary of a journey from Adelaide to Alice Springs, possibly in 1925. Two notebooks are rough or field notes of Kramer's 'South West Expedition' in 1928; the manuscript is a written up version of the same expedition. A third notebook includes rough or field notes of a trip in 1931 west and north-west of Alice Springs. The fourth notebook includes notes of a trip to Alice Springs in 1952.
