This series consists of 28 photographic prints, 27 of which were taken during two expeditions to Central Australia in 1931 and 1932. While the primary purpose of the expeditions was to study indigenous mammals of Central Australia, almost all of the photographs in this series feature Australian Aboriginal people encountered during the expeditions. The series also includes a photograph of a whale beached at Hallett Cove in South Australia.
