Camped at the Works Department House at Newcastle Waters (NT) and met Charlie Berg and Tim Dooley who attended to the maintance of the windmills and pumps on the government wells and bores on the Stock Routes. Mounted Constable Reid also stationed at this location. Relates that Charlie [Berg] of Scandinavian descent had obtained his B grade air pilot's certificate and that Constable Reid had been caught up in the Darwin labour troubles [1911-1919).
