Further annotated "All these figures are scratched on the surface of as basaltic rock with a sharp piece of stone. The other lines and heavy lines are cut deeply into rock. The light lines are faint svratches. The whole surface is lightly rubbed over with a piece of stone and for the work a smudge appearance. (See samples of basalitic rock.)"
