critiquing the then state of psychological theory.
His comments suggest that the paper she sent him was probably 'Symbolism as a mental process' (1931a).
George Elton Mayo (1880-1949) was an Australian social psychologist who taught at the Harvard Business School and wasan influential academic. He was married to McConnel's sister Dorothea. See Trahair 1984.
