Ngadlu tampinthi ngadlu Kaurna Miyurna yartangka. Munaintya puru purruna ngadlu-itya. Munaintyanangku yalaka tarrkarriana tuntarri.

We acknowledge we are on Kaurna Miyurna land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.

Author Platten Parascos.

This document gives details of events on Misima Island (PNG) commencing 25 January 1942, in preparation for the potential invasion by the Japanese forces during World War 2.
All Europeans were ordered to evacuate with all goods held in various stores on the island to be distributed to those left behind. It's not clear whether this meant just the Europeans or everyone, including local people.
A small group of Europeans decided to stay.
It appears that general lawlessness started the day after this order was given with looting and shooting. A group of three Europeans took control using force which resulted in shooting deaths and woundings of local people. They also meted out brutal punishments to locals for stealing goods from the various stores and houses.
Attempted uprisings and plots to murder the Europeans also resulted in shooting deaths and woundings of local men.
This unrest continued until December 1942 when an Australian Government representative (Lieutenant Roy Mader) again took over. Reference is also made to the deaths of Lieutenant Mader and George Burfitt and "some workers" on Motorina Island (PNG) a short time after - refer also AA21/5/2 for more details about this.
