We acknowledge we are on Kaurna Miyurna land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.
From records made by Platten Parascos of happenings at Misima (PNG) in 1942. 5pp Typescript. Document undated.
This is a story about a "Cargo Cult" run by a man on Misima Island (PNG) named Buliga and the attempts by the Australian administration to suppress it. This resulted in the murders of Lieutenant Roy Mader, George Burfitt and several local police on Motorina Island (PNG) on 31 December 1942 when they went to arrest Buliga. Several people were hanged for these murders. After Buliga was eventually captured, he hanged himself in the gaol at Bwagaoia (Misima Island, PNG).
