The black and white photograph, as well as a glass negative and film negative labelled 'Natives of Kadina district'. It shows a group of seven Aboriginal men and four women, probably Narangga people, in front of a wooden paling fence. The photograph was probably taken by Mitchell in about 1884. The names of the individuals have been written in ink on the photo, presumably by Mitchell. They include Big Ted, Billy (Harris?), Emma, Rosy, Louisa, Jinny, Shooting Tommy and (Boofy?) Charlie.
NB Tindale (see AA 338) evidently made a copy of this photograph in 1937 from the original in Mitchell's possession.
