Papers relating to a trip to Mount Eba, Stuart Range, South Australia, in 1923.
Note that this expedition does not have a Board for Anthropological research alphabetical identifier.

1. Cards containing anthropometric data on eight named individuals, and notes on a further two individuals. The information on the first eight individuals was collected at Mount Eba, Stuart Range, South Australia, in 1923, and these individuals are described on the cards as 'Kookita' and 'Tarcoola', and in the publication relating to this expedition as belonging to the 'Kookata tribe'. The last two individuals were examined in Adelaide in 1923, and are described as 'Ngunga, from Streaky Bay'. See: F Wood Jones (see AA 379) and TD Campbell (see AA 52), 'Anthropometric and Descriptive Observations on some South Australian Aboriginals, with a summary of previously recorded Anthropometric Data', Trans Royal Society South Australia 48 (1924), pp:303 - 312. Each board has mounted photographic prints showing front and side views of the heads of four individuals. The identity of the individuals can be traced through this publication. Papers relating to Expedition C, Macumba, South Australia, and Alice Springs [Stuart], Central Australia [Northern Territory], 30 December 1926-19 January 1927.

1. Handwritten tables 'Key to subjects examined' in Macumba and Stuart, including details of 57 named individuals. Headings under which details are recorded include: White name, Native name, Age, Tribe, Group and Totem; and anthropometric data. There are also some pages of rough notes. These tables were reproduced in TD Campbell and Cecil J Hackett (see AA 122), 'Adelaide University Field Anthropology: Central Australia, No.1 - Introduction: Descriptive and Anthropometric Observations', Trans Royal Society South Australia 51 (1927), pp: 65-75. The individuals are identified as belonging to the following 'Tribes': Arunda, Kaidish, Luritcha, Urabunna, and Nelpara.

Papers relating to Expedition D, Koonibba, South Australia, 13-25 August, 1928.

1. 'Report to the Board of Anthropology, The University, Adelaide', a four page typescript containing a general description of the Board's work, and a two page report on the expedition to Koonibba. The report notes of the Koonibba trip: that nearly 70 individuals were examined, 'all full-bloods', that 'The natives examined for the part formed a remnant of the West Coast tribe, the Kookita' and 'a few were survivors of groups belonging to the Ooldea district'.
   
   
2. Four draft data cards recording information on individuals, including names, birthplace, parents' names and details of children. The individuals are recorded as belonging to the following 'Tribes': Mirning and Nulba. See also data cards in AA 346/4/9 and genealogical notes in AA 346/5/1.
   
   
3. Papers headed 'Data concerning natives examined at Koonibba Mission Stn [Station], T D C[ampbell].' These papers include lists of names with ages, another showing birthdates, correspondence between TD Campbell and H Wollard, and results of physiological tests.

Papers relating to Expedition E, Hermannsburg, Central Australia [Northern Territory], 4-23 August, 1929.

1. Twenty sets of ink fingerprints, labelled with name or subject number. While most of these appear to have been collected at Hermannsburg, two are labelled 'Pt Pearce 19/5/28'.
   
   
2. Paper titled: 'Important Do not lose. Hermannsburg Ages of natives examined 1929'. Four-page handwritten list noting subject number, age, 'White name' and 'Native name' of 101 individuals examined, as well as some information on a further twenty individuals who were not allocated numbers during the expedition.
   
   
3. Typed diagram showing kinship terms and relationships [appears to relate to Arrernte speakers].
   
   
4. Three-page typescript ' Anthropological Research Records of Aboriginal Songs Taken at Hermannsburg August 1929'. This title is annotated in NB Tindale's hand: ' Wax cylinders stored by Dr Davies'.

2. Two composite panoramic photographs of landscape. The first, 'Panoramic View Mt Liebig' is labelled 'Photo 9', and includes small pencil sketches of landforms, and labels in NB Tindale's hand. The second, 'Giles Range from the east' is labelled 'Photo 10' and 'Photo: Prof. JB Cleland' and includes a landform sketch and geological notes in NB Tindale's hand.
   
   
3. Black notebook, 'University & Museum Anthropological Expedition to Mt Liebig, Central Australia. August 1932 (Sixth Expedition). HM Hale.' Contains a handwritten diary from 4 August, 1932 to 25 August 1932, beginning with a list of expedition personnel, and including a brief daily account of Hale's work on the expedition, as well as some general observations. Following the dairy are a collection of clippings from newspapers, following the note : 'News cuttings appended give most details of trip.'

1. One black exercise book containing packing lists for equipment in NB Tindale's hand.
   
   
2. One black exercise book, containing a list of photographs, including portrait photograph numbers, and a three-page account headed 'Anthrop.[ology] Exp.[edition] To N. W. of S. A. in 1933' which includes an account of the work undertaken by HM Hale. Both these items appear to be in HM Hale's hand. Also inserted in the pages of the exercise book is a page in another hand headed 'Fry' which is a short account of the work of HK Fry (see AA 105).
   
   
3. Three newsclippings relating to the expedition; two include photographs.
   
   
4. Page headed 'Hacketts Bloodgroupings Mann Range Trip.' The list is divided into two portions headed O and A; individual subject numbers are listed under each heading and are also identified as Jankundjadjara, Ngalia or Pitjandjara. The headings are in NB Tindale's hand.
