We acknowledge we are on Kaurna Miyurna land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.

My Darling Girls

Well Ho Chi Mihns having a really good session this time we got back in from the operation this morning and I've been in bed all day today. Ive had vomiting and bad diarreaha the last three days. I think I'm starting to stabilise a bit now though. I'm so full of pills I rattle when I walk.

The operation looked good but fouled up at the end. Reaction Force were off in Huong Dien so I used HUC BAO and we ran into a VC comp we had then pinned in a river bend like so [insert diagram] in a village about 300 yds by 400 yds and at 4.00 PM were in a position to assault and the HUC BAO comd refused to go in without arty support. I tried to talk him out of it but he fired his arty - some of it landed in the blocking force - 3 WIA

Then they called in armed choppers and shot it up- by then it was 6 and just starting to get dark as they went in - so the VC just lay low and filtered out as it got dark - somewhat frustrating. Had a bad day up here yesterday we lost 6 choppers in the province 4 big H46s, and 2 Hueys. They also lost 4 F4 jet fighters and a L19 up in QUANG TRI so its been a bad day for the fly boys. We've got some stinking US general coming in tomorrow for a briefing - I've given this RD briefing so often now Its terribly hard to keep any enthusiasm in the act. Received a letter tonight dated 11 DEC not your fault you'd put in the right APO they sent it to 95628 - clots. The sun has come out today and its glorious every time I walk out of my room Im squinting in the glare.

With a bit of luck this might be the finish of the monsoon. I can't see myself getting away on leave at the moment sweetie There is just too much work to do and I'm also loathe to spend the dough for even an in country R&R, and from what I hear Dalat isn't all that peaceful anyways

We've got some AUST P.R. photographers coming up on the 30th to take photos for the AATTV history so I'll try and scrounge some copies. New WO1 arrived today to replace McCartney - WO 1 WHITESIDE. I'm putting Mac in for the MBE he's earnt it compared to a lot of the useless bums that get it. Must close now my wonderful darling I'll be right tomorrow once these pills get through. Take care of yourself my pretty darling and remember that a Petie loves you and the little sweeties so very very much more than I could ever tell you. Take care my darlings

Petie
