Ngadlu tampinthi ngadlu Kaurna Miyurna yartangka. Munaintya puru purruna ngadlu-itya. Munaintyanangku yalaka tarrkarriana tuntarri.
We acknowledge we are on Kaurna Miyurna land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.
This series comprises 37 original aerogrammes sent by Major Badcoe to his wife whom he refers to as Niesi whilst serving in Vietnam, 29 transcriptions of the areogrammes provided by his eldest daughter Carey (Kerry) and 37 transcriptions provided by the South Australian Museum Archives. The items date from 12 November 1967 to 7 April 1968.
Carey Badcoe has provided two transcriptions for aerogrammes not held by the South Australian Museum Archives. See AA 1129/1/3/1 and AA 1129/1/3/39.
Each areogramme and transcription for the omitted areogrammes have been arranged chronologically and allocated an inventory identifier. The South Australian Museum transcriptions have been entered into the inventory listing but not in the original format given the limitations of the programme. A scanned copy of the original aerogramme and Carey Badcoe transcriptions can be viewed by selecting 'IMAGE >>' in the 'Inventory Listing'.
Major Peter Badcoe documents his military activities and family life. He occasionally uses the folds in the aerogramme for punctuation. A '?' has been inserted where a word cannot be identified. Comments considered private or sensitive have been deleted and indicated in the South Australian Museum Archive transcripts by '[deleted]' and blacked out in the scans. Original items without censorship can be accessed in accordance with procedures.
