We acknowledge we are on Kaurna Miyurna land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.

My Darling Girls.

My poor little Neisi what a time you've had with Kerry. I'm just so sorry I couldn't be there to help you my little sweetie. As always you did marvellously well to cope as you did. Poor little Neisi everything happens to you. I hope poor old Kedgn? is completely recovered by now. I'm just back tonight from SIA in QUANG DIEN - again we've had four days of hard fighting Poor SIA it used to be a lovely town. Once again 810 Bn hit it we were out in PHU THU on a 1 day operation and we've swung up to QUANG DIEN. This time the VC already had the market place and we had a damed hard fight to hold the bridge into town and the District HQ. Pouring rain - no aircraft could fly to support us it was just 3 days of close, dirty house to house fighting and today was just mopping up and clearing up. I lost Capt LEHMAN my assistant ops officer killed and Sgt Thomas the radio operator (and the one in the last action at PHU THU) was wounded in the arm. CAPT AHN the Quang Dien district chief was killed in the fighting - he'd submitted his resignation the day before!

We also lost a Company Commander 17 dead and 40 wounded. I was sorry to lose [deleted] he was a good lad with a nice dry sense of humour. It was just one of those things that happen we were crossing a padi and they hit us with a 57 mm recoilless. We dived for cover behind the paddy bund as ? he hit the ground he's accidentally fired his carbine and shot himself through the head - at least it was instantaneous.

We pulled back in for rest tonight and we haven't any op planned for tomorrow

Gen Anderson never made it up to here due to the torrential rain for the past few days. No aircraft have been able to get off the ground at all. What a nut Joan Donaldson is. [deleted] Had a nice letter from MAC waiting when I got back. I'll answer it tomorrow night as I'm pretty beat now and I'll head straight off to bed but I wanted to write to you straight away my little sweetie as I want you to get some mail. Poor Neisi you've got the hard end of this year my darling, with all the troubles you've had.

We are really winning now that - half way through march by the time you get his.

Not long now until Petie comes home to give you a million cuddles and we go off to our lovely holiday with the most wonderful wife and little sweeties that ever lived. I hope the news of the savings from here helped a bit on the budget as I realize that Kerrys crash didn't help down here. Don't worry my little sweetie you are doing a wonderful job and I know only too well how lucky I am. I love you my darling. Petie
