Ngadlu tampinthi ngadlu Kaurna Miyurna yartangka. Munaintya puru purruna ngadlu-itya. Munaintyanangku yalaka tarrkarriana tuntarri.

We acknowledge we are on Kaurna Miyurna land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.

My Darling Girls

Just back from HUONG DIEN. Left at 4.30 this morning and went out to an outpost at DIEN HUONG that had been hit. They lost 11 dead and 33 wounded, their machine guns mortars and radio - Not good. I took two new advisers with me the MAJ and CAPT for HUONG DIEN. They got mildly shot at - nothing serious so it was good indoctrination for them. Still bitterly cold and drizzling with rain. I don't think the rainy season is EVER going to stop. [deleted] was up yesterday for a short visit. He's off to HK and TAIWAN for 7 days leave next week. Apparently has taken over completely from [deleted] with that female of theirs - so she'll probably finish up with his Aust babies. I'm afraid I'm not terribly hospitable to [deleted] I don't like him or the way he acts, so I let him sleep down in the WO's hut. WO2 Holmes leaves us at the end of next week which is a pity he's a good lad. [deleted] the WO1 who replaced McCartney is NOT good. I may have to get rid of him I think. Gen Daly C.G.S. and Gen Vincent the Comd AFV are due up on 20/21 for a 1 day visit.

Lot of mail hold ups in the AUST system pet. Some of the letters are taking 20 days to reach the chaps.

Didn't have breakfast or lunch today, so I've just had a meal of TOM SOUP, GHERKINS and a tin of Sardines - washed down by Coke - doesn't mix all that well actually! I feel very old tonight. I wonder if I was ever as young and keen - and green as these two I took out today I seem to have been here a lifetime. I've had four real friends up here. Col Graeser - and he leaves in few weeks. Greg Clements and Nills Lehman - both dead and young Custer and I don't want to take him out with me any more. He's too big and too slow and I'd hate to lose another one, the last two hurt quite a bit. I'll finish this in the morning my darling. I'm a bit tired now - a good nights sleep might help Just remember I adore you little Neisi - sleep tight.

2.30 AM

So much for sleep PHU THU under heavy attack - we've lost radio communication with the advisers We are moving out in 5 minutes. I'll throw this in the box ? in case we don't get back by post clearing time at 12.30 tomorrow. I love you my wonderful Neisi - more than I could ever tell you.
