Well off to Danang today. We were out again last night to PHU VANG. VC Coy came in and attacked a RD village. The night before we were out to PHONG DIEN. VC came in to a ? refugee village and burned every house to the ground. 115 of them. They didn't kill any of the people just drove them out and then burned everything I'm in my tired cycle again. The weather is just changing from wet to hot and its terribly humid and uncomfortable and I'm a bit beat. The General and the D INF come into DANANG tomorrow so Im going down this afternoon and I'm going to be at 5.30 and I'm going to sleep for 13 hours. My Silver Star papers have all gone in. I've got a copy of the citation and I'll send it down. It usually takes 3 - 4 months to get through the system and one of two things will happen. Either they will approve it for me to wear the US Silver Star or they may convert it at Aust HQ AFV to an "equivalent Aust award" which would be the Military Cross. Me I don't know, but either way I should get a ribbon to wear out of it and more important another lever to use to try and get an overseas trip for us. I'm getting rid of [deleted] - my replacement for Lehman - he's hopeless. I'm sending him out to QUANG DIEN as assistant. I'm shifting GARCY the Capt I had out at PHU THU in as my assistant and MAJ MYERS who has arrived as PHU THU adviser will replace GARCY as RF/PF officer (report writer basically) as they are not going to put a team back out into PHU THU until it is completely rebuilt. Big fight going on up in QUANG TRI the last few days VC are using lots of these 140 mm rockets. They hit GIO LINH with 700 rounds of mortar and rockets the night before last. I've got a dose of the sneezers right now - and it isn't the sun touching my nose. Got conference this morning with the USMC (They like my title of uncontrollable Sex Maniac Corps for them) as they may shoot me! To discuss reading plans - if I stay awake that long.
