We acknowledge we are on Kaurna Miyurna land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.

The Galloway Jewellery Jam on Friday 20 June celebrates the Museum’s highly successful Treasures of the Viking Age: The Galloway Hoard exhibition.

The Jam will again be held in the Museum’s foyer and host a Viking-themed demonstration by Jam Factory jewellers.

Music will be supplied by the Celtic quartet Petrichor, with their melodeon, guitar, Irish whistle flute and fiddle.

The festivities start at 5pm and run until 8pm.

The ground floor of the Museum, including the World Mammals Gallery will be open, along with the Museum’s café and gift shop and, of course, the Treasures of the Viking Age: The Galloway Hoard exhibition.

The two previous late night Viking Festival openings – Music & Mead and Wine, Weaving and Leatherworking were hugely successful.

The Viking Festival will culminate on the two-day VikingFest, to be held within the Museum’s grounds on the weekend of 28-29 June (10am-5pm).

VikingFest will feature a Viking-age market, artisans, combat displays, axe throwing, a licensed tavern and even a Viking longship. There will also be plenty of music and entertainment, including the wildly popular Inferno fire act.

Tickets to the Treasure of the Viking Age: The Galloway Hoard exhibition, which runs until 27 July, are $25. Concessions are available.

Demand to visit the exhibition on Friday night is expected to be high and the public are urged to pre-purchase tickets online.

All VikingFest events are proudly supported by the Adelaide Economic Development Agency and are free to attend. With immersive experiences and unforgettable moments across the city this winter, this is no time to hibernate. Adelaide’s festival season is just warming up.
