Other ways to support

The South Australian Museum is a busy place with plenty of great appeals taking place at the moment. These include our sensory-friendly appeal, corporate sponsorship, patron program and many other ways to donate.

Waterhouse Club

The Waterhouse Club was established in 1987 and takes its name from the Museum’s first Curator, Frederick George Waterhouse. He was an English naturalist, zoologist and entomologist who made significant contributions to the study of Australia's natural history.

The club’s program offers a blend of travel, adventure and entertainment in the company of the Museum’s acclaimed researchers. The Waterhouse Club is a fun way to associate with the South Australian Museum, while also raising significant funds to support it.

Volunteer

Volunteers, interns and students make a significant contribution to the Museum in many different ways, including enhancing visitor experiences, sharing the stories of our cultural and natural heritage, and assisting us with caring and conducting research on our collections.

Volunteer positions are advertised on this page as vacancies become available. For student placements or internships, please contact us via your academic institution so that we can ensure that your placement will meet your course requirements. Note we do not offer placements to students under 18 years of age Currently there are no volunteer positions available, thank you for your interest.
