Handwritten names and boundary lines show 'tribal' distribution along northern coast of Northern Territory, from Van Diemen Gulf to Gulf of Carpentaria. Map includes Groote Eylandt and Sir Edward Pellew Group of Islands. Tindale made extensive changes in white correction fluid (original annotation is visible).

Notes at bottom read: 'rough corrected copy. fresh one to be photographed' and 'Map checked [illegible] UCLA 1953 maps' (see series 338/15). A top margin note reads: 'for this area [illegible] letter of 1958 and map'.
