This is the second of four volumes. The first two volumes (AA 338/1/19/1-2) describe Tindale's role in the expedition. The index for this volume is in Volume III (AA 338/1/19/3).

The journal entries in this volume date 15 July to 30 October 1953. The volume commences on page 692b, continuing from Volume I. Included are pages 787a, 822a and 1115b-c.

This volume is handwritten with annotations. Tindale writes on the right page leaving the left for annotations, drawings, etc. Expedition entries end on page 1147.

The expedition party included Esther and Joseph Birdsell (Associate Professor of Anthropology at UCLA, see AA 689), Dorothy and Norman Tindale, Phillip Jud Epling (University student, UCLA).
